Disabling the Pop-Up Blocker in Firefox

In order to access VitalSource eTextbooks through the link provided on your course home page, you will need to disable the pop-up blocker.

1. On your course home page, click the eText link.

   

   You are taken to a page with the message, “Your activity has opened in a new window.”  However, if your pop-up blocker is on, the window (or new tab) will not open. Instead, a notification bar appears above your course page with the message, “Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window” and an Options button.

2. Click Options.

   

3. Choose Allow pop-ups for (name of site).

   The name of the site will depend on the course you are taking.

   

4. In the Navigation bar, click the name of your course.

   

   You are returned to your course home page.

5. Click the eText link once again.

   Your book opens in a new tab or window.

Disabling the Pop-Up Blocker in Internet Explorer

In order to access VitalSource eTextbooks through the link provided on your course home page, you will need to disable the pop-up blocker.

1. On your course home page, click the eText link.

   

   You are taken to a page with the message, “Your activity has opened in a new window.”  However, if your pop-up blocker is on, the window (or new tab) will not open. Instead, a notification bar appears at the bottom of your screen with the message, “Internet Explorer blocked a pop-up from (name of site)” along with “Allow once” and “Options for this site” buttons.

2. Click Options for this site.

   

3. Choose Always Allow.

   

   Your book opens in a new tab or window.

Disabling the Pop-Up Blocker in Safari

In order to access VitalSource eTextbooks through the link provided on your course home page, you will need to disable the pop-up blocker.

1. On your course home page, click the eText link.

   

   You are taken to a page with the message, “Your activity has opened in a new window.” However, if your pop-up blocker is on, the window (or new tab) will not open.

2. On the toolbar, click Safari to open the menu.
3. Choose Preferences.
4. Click the Security tab.
5. Uncheck Block pop-up windows

   Note: For an iPad, go to Settings > Safari > Block Pop Ups and slide to OFF.

6. In the Navigation bar, click the name of your course.

   

   You are returned to your course home page.

7. Click the eText link once again.

   Your book opens in a new tab or window depending on your browser settings.

In order to access VitalSource eTextbooks through the link provided on your course home page, you will need to disable the pop-up blocker.

1. On your course home page, click the eText link.

   

   You are taken to a page with the message, “Your activity has opened in a new window.”  However, if your pop-up blocker is on, the window (or new tab) will not open. Instead, a pop-up blocker icon appears in the address bar.

2. Click the pop-up icon.

   

3. Choose Always allow pop-ups for (name of site).

   The name of the site will depend on the course you are taking.

   

4. Click Done.
5. In the Navigation bar, click the name of your course.

   

   You are returned to your course home page.

6. Click the eText link once again.

   Your book opens in a new tab or window depending on your browser settings.
